Saucy! Curry named after Dan Walker by Strictly fan chef gets new family-friendly name

How's that for the ultimate accolade? BBC Breakfast presenter-turned-dancer Dan has had a curry dedicated him - but the restaurant has had to change it and make it more PG.

While speaking to Claudia Winkleman last year on Strictly Come Dancing, Dan shared that Strictly-loving chef at his local curry house Prithiraj in Sheffield wanted to call one of his dishes after Dan.

He revealed: "He's named a curry after me. I think the working title is 'Dan's-sak' I'm not sure that sounds very tasty!

"I think we need to change the name of the curry but the principle is beautiful."

Currently on the Strictly tour in Sheffield, the stars and their dancing pros went for a curry to Dan's favourite spot with Katya Jones sharing: "Confirmed, it really is on the menu!" highlighting the 'Dan Walker Special'.

Dan's dish is described as a: "Minced lamb with peppers, onions, tomatoes, topped with boiled egg and fresh coriander."

Host of the show Janette Manrara shared a video and can be heard laughing: "Apparently I'm having the Dan Walker."

To which Dan replied: "Oh yes, Manrara!"

Also at the restaurant was Gordon Ramsey's daughter Tilly, Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood, Rhys Stephenson, Nikita Kuzmin, Nadia Bychkova and others.

Dan noted: "What a lovely treat to take some of the #Strictly family out for a curry with my family. We had a great night at @prithiraj_restaurant - where we took @nadiyabychkova during the series. Thanks to Sobuj and his team for being so kind and making the most amazing food for everyone.

"Also Janette taught our son some ballroom."
