This might just be the very thing we need in the middle of a rather chaotic end to the year- 10 minutes of Tom Hardy reading us a bedtime story.

The award-winning actor has confirmed he will be appearing on another episode of CBeebies Bedtime Stories, which will air over Christmas.

And, yes, he will be accompanied by his French Bulldog, Blue.

On Christmas Eve, Tom will be settling down to read us An Odd Dog Christmas by Rob Biddulph to calm our pandemic-induced stress and allow us some escapism.

If that doesn’t work, he will also be lending his voice to The Christmas Pine by Julia Donaldson on Christmas day.

When the actor appeared on Bedtime Stories back in 2016, fans went wild, and the episode racked up more than a million views on iPlayer.

It was so popular, in fact, that last year, Tom made a whole week’s worth of Bedtime Stories in what CBeebies dubbed ‘Tom Week’.

We wonder why? Maybe people just really love bedtime stories…

The actor has been busy this year. His new film Venom: Let There Be Carnage was released, with rumours that he may be working on another (probably not as well suited for CBeebies' audience).

Both of episodes of Bedtime Stories will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer if you can’t catch them when they air.
