More exciting news for Friends fans, as Chandler Bing actor Matthew Perry is apparently set to tell all about his life and career in a bombshell new book.

It’s been reported that Perry has signed a “seven figure” deal to write the book, which will document and ups and downs he has experienced.

Deadline reports that Matthew has signed a deal  with Flatiron Books, which is a division of Macmillan.

The website says: “It is set to be a candid and self-aware book told with his trademark humor, with Perry vividly detailing his lifelong battle with the disease [of addiction] and what fueled it despite seemingly having it all.”

The book doesn’t yet have a title, but if all goes well it will hit bookshelves in the autumn next year.

Megan Lynch is a publisher of Flatiron Books, and will edit the project.

She told Deadline: “We need humor, we need catharsis, and we need to agree on something–and Matthew's extraordinary story, told in his inimitable voice, is that thing.”

Over the years Perry has battled with substance abuse and addiction, after rising to fame in the much-loved sitcom.

It was recently revealed that in 2002 to 2003 alone, Matthew earned an incredible $24m (£17m) to play Chandle.

The show ran from 1994 to 2004.

Matthew has had a well-documented battle with drug addiction, and several stints in rehab.

At the recent Friends reunion special, fans were worried when he appeared to slur his words while talking.

During the reunion show, Matthew admitted he doesn't hear “from anyone” in the cast and used to feel “like I was going to die if the [audience] didn't laugh” during the sitcom.

“'It's not healthy, for sure, but I would sometimes say a line and they wouldn't laugh and I would sweat and just go into convulsions if I didn't get the laugh I was supposed to get. I would freak out,” he admitted.

Fans will be eager to find out more about the real Matthew, and what life was like on one of the world’s biggest sitcoms.

Matthew will be the first Friends star to write a memoir.
