Sky releases first look at Never Mind the Buzzcocks Reboot on Youtube.

Beloved comedy music quiz show Never Mind the Buzzcocks has shared the first look at the show’s new reboot. 

Bakeoff’s Noel Fielding returns to his previous BBC role as team captain, and is joined by Taskmaster host Greg Davies as brand new presenter. 

The clip features BAFTA winning comedian Daisy May Cooper and pop star Anne Marie participating in the iconic “Intros” round, with Little Mix’s Jade Thirwall trying to decipher their performance. 

Their rocky rendition leaves fellow panelists Noel and Nish Kumar in hysterics, needing to step away and face the wall to compose themselves. 

The series originally ran on the BBC for nearly two decades, from 1996 to 2015, until it was cancelled to make way for new original content on the channel. The reboot will be airing on Sky this autumn for a run of 8 episodes and a Christmas special. Noel Fielding is the only returning cast member from the original series, joined by fellow team captain Daisy May Cooper and new regular guest Jamali Maddix. 

Earlier this year, former host Simon Amstell told NME that he wasn’t asked back for the reboot on Sky. Amstell hosted the show from 2006 to 2009, taking over from fellow comedian Mark Lammar. Following his departure the show featured a number of guest hosts, before Rhod Gilbert took up the role for the final seasons.

With the same production company Talkback on board, Sky has said that “viewers can expect the unpredictability of the original series, with some of the best known and loved rounds remaining, alongside some new surprises thrown in along the way”.
