How else are we supposed to know what time it is? Viewers of BBC Breakfast were not happy this morning thanks to the absence of the trusty TV clock. Fans jumped on Twitter to express their angst about the disappearance of the digital time-keeper and presenter Louise Minchin had to come to the rescue.

The host wrote on social media: "Good morning we have no clock on #BBCBreakfast but promise we will keep telling you the time!! Currently 6.44."

Viewers asked: "Where's the clock this morning? My life runs by the little red clock."

Another added: "I was almost late for work this morning due to no clock on the screen."

One user joked: "The BBC breakfast clock is self isolating."

Dan Walker replied: "You're not alone. We all need the clock."

Fellow BBC presenter Zoe Ball offered her help and wrote on Twitter: "Can spare you any of these @mrdanwalker and @louiseminchin I'll pop on my bike during Nina Simone and nip one over... @BBCBreakfast."

Later on in the show, all was well in the studio as the pair posed for a picture with an old school round clock that was sat onto their red sofa.

Louise posted the photo alongside her co-host and wrote: "Clock news!"
