Did you know most of us have been peeling the lid off a tin the wrong way all this time? One TikTok-er has blown minds by literally lifting the lid on the proper way to do it. User Alan Wood shared the simple hack on the social media site and impressed followers.

With over 250k likes and thousands of comments, fellow users have expressed their shock at the can revelation. 

One person wrote: "Sometimes this app makes me question if I'm breathing properly."

A second user added: "I'm not risking breaking the tin opener by twisting it around."

One Aussie viewer wrote: "I'm Australian and I open it that way."

Another penned: "How do you usually open it? I'm from New Zealand, we open our cans like that as well."

A user questioned: "WHAT? YOU GUYS DON'T OPEN IT LIKE THAT?"
