Beauty And The Beast spin-off series starring Luke Evans is coming to Disney+

Luke Evans is galloping into town soon as villain Gaston in the new Disney+ series Beauty and the Beast alongside Josh Gad as LeFou in the eight episode musical offering. Briana Middleton stars as Tilly who will join the duo as they embark on a journey in search of answers to the past as they meet friends and foes along the all-singing all-dancing way.

The action takes place prior to the film and is written and produced by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis (Once Upon a Time) alongside Josh Gad with award-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast) scoring the soundtrack.

Luke told fans on social media: "It’s happening!! It’s really happening!!!! Welcome to the family Brianna - Beauty and the Beast’ Prequel Series Greenlighted By Disney+; Briana Middleton Joins Josh Gad & Luke Evans."

He added over on Instagram: "This fills me with such excitement!!!! To be bringing these characters back to life is gonna be such a trip!!! A huge Welcome to the wonderful Briana Middleton into our ever growing Disney family."

President and chief creative officer at Disney Branded Television, Gary Marsh, spoke about the upcoming feature set to begin production in spring 2022.

He explained: "For anyone who's ever wondered how a brute like Gaston and a goof like LeFou could have ever become friends and partners, or how a mystical enchantress came to cast that fateful spell on the prince-turned-beast, this series will finally provide those answers... and provoke a whole new set of questions."
