Kelly Clarkson is taking the TV chat show crown off of Ellen DeGeneres in autumn 2022, NBC have announced. Ellen's daytime slot is being filled by singer Kelly Clarkson's own award-winning talk show.

It comes soon after news broke that comedian Ellen is stepping down from her long-running show after 19 seasons, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, following allegations of a toxic workplace, which she denies knowledge of and has insisted it's not due to any claims.

Not only is she a talented singer, but Kelly has an hour-long Emmy-winning talk show currently in its second season.

Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Local, said: “We look forward to Ellen DeGeneres’ 19th season paired with Kelly Clarkson for what is sure to be a blockbuster year.

“By 2022, The Kelly Clarkson Show will be the star of our daytime entertainment schedules and an asset to our early afternoon newscasts.”
