Presenter Dan Walker got tongues wagging with his strange hand accessory after appearing on The One Show to talk about the new European Super League. As the BBC Breakfast host talked to presenters Alex Jones and Michael Ball about the new football league uproar – he appeared to be sporting an interesting arm piece.

Fellow BBC reporter Mark Savage tweeted Dan about his hand-wear after noticing the detail during the segment.

He inquired: @mrdanwalker has just been on @BBCTheOneShow with an elastic band wrapped around his fingers. An aide-memoir? But for what?"

Dan then amusingly explained back the reason for his banded-arm. He laughed: "It’s because the kids fired it at me just before I was on."

He has recently stepped down from BBC’s Football Focus after 12 years and is looking forward to other ‘exciting opportunities'.

Sharing the news on social media, he wrote: "This is going to be my last season presenting Football Focus.

"It has been an amazing 12 years and I can honestly say I have loved every single second of it.

"I am so proud of the job we’ve done, the changes we’ve made and issues we’ve looked at a time when the football landscape has changed immeasurably.

"But, having said all that, after 12 years it's time for someone else to take the reins."
