If like us you're more Mrs Hovel than Mrs Hinch, you'll love the sound of this - a clean and tidy home in no time with these handy tips.

We all need a helping hand when it comes to clearing up and these interior design pros from My Domaine have shared their go-to moves.

Kristen Peña, owner of K Interiors, told The Sun: “A clean home doesn’t always have to be clean, but it has to be organised." Sounds good already.

She advised the following for a flawless home:

Spend 10 minutes straightening things up.

Hide your mess in stylish storage containers.

Always have a candle lit.

Spritz areas to keep them smelling fresh.

Only tidy the main rooms.

Keep counters clear.

Never leave piles of junk lying around - ie. hide it where you can't see it.

Alessandra Wood, interior design expert, explained: “Without storage, your space gets messy and disorganized and that can bring out the worst in people.”

Keep your home smelling sweet

Use scented candles or glass cleaner, like Windex, to spray randomly to make it seem as though it's freshly cleaned when it's far from it.

Interior designer, Gail M Davis, advised: "The scent stays and makes it seem as if I just finished cleaning."

Focus on key spaces so not to overwhelm yourself

Avoid cluttering up the main living areas and shut any mess behind a door for when you can face dealing with it.

Keep your kitchen counters clear and clutter-free. Put away cooking equipment to make space and keep the area calm.

“Ashley Moore, interior designer, advised: "Keeping surfaces clear of any clutter really helps a home feel cleaner than it is."
