We could all do with a giant hug at the moment - and that's exactly what we got from a heartwarming This Morning love story.

One caller grabbed the heartstrings of the nation as she told of her sweet love in lockdown story.

Talking to hosts Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield and agony aunt Deidre Sanders, the lady in question shared how she'd found love again at the age of 72 - and planned on proposing to her partner.

A viewer called Jenny explained that she had met a man by accident while going for a stroll. She said: "I went for a walk and thought I’d treat myself to a nice cup of coffee.

"I sat there and then this very nice looking man came and sort of said good morning and sat opposite me.

"I’m 72 years old and then I met him again the following week and after that, we’ve been together every day and after our third lunch together he looked and me and said: 'Do you know something, I think I love you'.

"I looked and him and I thought 'I’m 72' but I didn’t tell him that at first of course as I look much younger."

Jenny plans to propose to her younger partner on Friday as a birthday surprise. She revealed: "He’s my toyboy and his birthday is on Friday.

"He’s 69 and my surprise to him on Friday is, I’m going to ask him to marry me."

Holly gushed: "This feels like a movie. This is just amazing."

Phil added: "This is the best story."

Viewers of the show loved it, commenting on Twitter: "Jenny’s lockdown story that she’s just told on #ThisMorning what a wonderful love story."

Others added: "That was so lovely. Made me smile," and: "Jenny’s story was incredible! What a tale."
