F1 World Champion Jenson Button makes his debut in the British GT Championship at Silverstone, in a Sky branded McLaren, live on Sky Sports F1 at 12:45pm on Sunday.

Jenson joined the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky this morning to talk about it, and the amazing story of one of the other drivers.

"I'm actually racing for my own team. Jensen Team Rocket RGN" he enthuses. "We've had one car for a year, which is two young guns, one's actually a gamer. Can you believe that? His first year of actual racing real cars this year, and he won his first race!" Chris marvelled, and said he'd made quick progress from virtual racing to a real track.

Jenson agreed, laughing: "What does it say about the rest of us racing drivers?"

He continued: "So yeah, we've got James Baldwin, and Mike O'Brien in the other car and then I'm racing alongside my best buddy. Christopher Buncombe. So we're racing in the championship at the last round which is at Silverstone this weekend."

Jenson talked about some of the challenges he's facing this weekend: "Well, this is really different for me this is so different to what I'm used to there's downforce, but it's very minimal. The car is heavy, it bounces around."

The unpredictable British weather is causing a few issues, too. "I've never driven it in the dry. So if we have a dry weekend, which is quite unusual in the UK at the moment, but it's looking dry, it's gonna be tricky. You know, I'm racing against some of the best GT drivers in the world. And, you know, to be at the front is going to be tough, but we'll do our best."

Catch the British GT championship on Sky Sports F1 at 12:45pm on Sunday.
