It's impossible to be gloomy when listening to Kylie Minogue, and fans are over the moon that the pop princess has returned with her 15th album, Disco, out today.

Kylie joined the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky today to talk about the record, and how 2020 has been for her so far.

"I started recording this album before lockdown, but a lot of it was made in lockdown at home on my own" she recalled. "As much as I was working remotely with people, it was intense. It was kind of all-consuming, which was great."

She explained: "It was like a coping mechanism.  I could lose myself in the work every day. Now that it's done, and it's out for the world, I am reminded of the drive to help me do it, knowing it would one day reach people."

"This album release seems even more emotional than previous ones" exclaims Kylie. "But music is one of the things that can make it directly into people's homes."

Chris and Kylie also talked about how many people are feeling sad at missing live music.

"We have to look forward to when we can do that again" insists Kylie. "Let the tears fall for when they need to, for now, because I think the emotion is good. It just reminds us how much we miss togetherness."

Over her incredible career, there have been highs and lows, but she says you never stop learning.

"You always learn from what you've done before. If you've got a passion for what you do,  you'll knock the door down, you just want to have another go,"

"Especially with creativity, there are endless possibilities."

We're very glad Kylie is still making music.

Her 15th studio album, Disco, is out now.
