Everyone has a favourite song to drive to. That tune that makes you feel like you're going on an adventure, or one that just makes sitting in traffic a bit more manageable.

The Sun exclusively revealed that the classic by Journey takes the number one spot in a new survey to find out which is the nation's favourite driving song.

Journey won by a landslide, receiving more than a fifth of the votes. In joint second place was Fleetwood Mac with ', and ELO's '

Fourth was The Killers with the song everyone loves to sing along to, '

Mark Tongue of Select Car Leasing explained why we love certain songs when driving. He said: “Some songs just seem to fit the bill when you’re on the road - be it the rhythm, anthemic lyrics that get the whole car singing along, or the imagery they conjure up.

“Our results show it’s mainly older songs, rockers and power ballads from the 1970s and 80s, that are still doing the business for many motorists.”

The rest of the top 10 was made up by Lynyrd Skynyrd’s , by Toto, AC/DC’s ‘, The Proclaimers with ‘, by Whitesnake and just sneaking into the top ten was Steppenwolf with '

The survey was carried out by OnePoll and asked 1,000 UK motorists to pick their favourite five songs from a list of 29, while also giving them the choice of “none of the above”.

Every Friday on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky Chris likes to talk about (and play) some power ballads. Do you think any of these fit the bill?
