'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’ featuresan all-star cast including Zac Efron, John Malkovich, Lily Collins & Kaya Scodelario. Efron stars as Bundy and tells the true story of America’s most notorious serial killer.

The film's release follows the success of the hit Netflix series ‘Ted Bundy Confession Tapes’.

Originally from Seattle, Theodore Robert Bundy raped and murdered around 30 women across 7 states in the US, during the 1970s.

The film, which is told from Ted’s wife’s perspective, gets its title from a direct quote in Judge Edward Cowart’s statement about Bundy’s crimes in the 1979 trial, before he sentenced him to death.

Whilst on Death Row Bundy confessed not only to assaulting the women but also to necrophilia.

He famously fired his lawyer and represented himself during his final murder trial and gained much support from the public who saw him as ‘charismatic’.

In sentencing the 42-year-old, Judge Cowart, played by John Malkovich in the upcoming film, said: "It is an utter tragedy for this court to see such a total waste of humanity as I’ve experienced in this courtroom. You’re a bright young man. You’d have made a good lawyer and I would have loved to have you practice in front of me, but you went another way, partner. Take care of yourself. I don’t feel any animosity toward you. I want you to know that. Once again, take care of yourself."

The film billed as a hard-hitting thriller will be released on on May 3 2019.
