Arctic Monkeys announced their first 2018 tour date today.

The Sheffield band haven't performed live in four years, but they return to the stage in June to undertake a headline slot at the Firefly music festival.

Their fifth album, AM, was released in September 2013.

Rumours have been circulating recently of the band making a comeback over the last few years.

This intensified last year when bassist Nick O’Malley gave an interview talking about the band's future plans. In his chat with The Ride magazine, he said the new album was due in 2018, and "if it isn’t, we’ve got problems”.

Firefly takes place from June 14-17 in Delaware, US. The other headline acts performing on stage are The Killers, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar.
