U2's Adam Clayton on the upcoming album, 'The Blackout', and 'The Joshua Tree'

U2 legend Adam Clayton said he and his bandmates wanted to disrupt the contemporary music scene with their upcoming album.
The band have a new album, , coming out, and have already released a video for one of the songs off it, .
They have announced the first single from the record is , and it's available now.
In an interview with Jon Holmes, Clayton spoke about the upcoming album and
He told Jon: "It's one of those hybrid clubby-rock songs and I think a lot of people have looked at it at this stage to get excited about the record it comes from.
"I think the lyrics have a personal twist in terms of the politics of the moment in America, but it's a tune to have a good night to.

He told Jon how much of a "pleasure" it was to return to period, saying there was a "raw honesty with extraordinary power" to it.
Jon told him how he also deliberately went to Joshua Tree National Park when he was in America as a student, playing the songs off the album all the way there.
