In an ultimate show of loyalty between superstars, Ed Sheeran has declared he will forever defend Taylor Swift against any kind of controversy.
The British singer, who has just released his third album, became friends with the American superstar several years ago.
He wrote a song with her, and later supported her on her Red world tour in 2013.
In an interiew with Rolling Stone magazine, he described her as an "anomaly"
The 26-year-old said: "She would be there if everything ended for me. Taylor is kind of an anomaly in that sense."
Taylor Swift faced a difficult year in 2016 - she was embroiled in a feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West over one of the rapper's songs,

She also had to deal with criticism over her romance with actor Tom Hiddleston, which was labeled a 'showmance'.
Sheeran said he will always be there to help her deal with such unwelcome controversy.
He said: "She's the most famous woman in the world, so she can't make the decision to not be in the press.
"But I always stick up for Taylor."

The feeling is mutual - Swift has sung Sheeran's praises in the past.
She said: "We've gotten matching Scottish fold cats, made each other arts and crafts Christmas presents, vacationed with our families, and had each other's backs.
"He's the James Taylor to my Carole King and I can't imagine a time when he wouldn't be."
