My Mum, Your Dad star Janey has opened up about how much pressure she felt joining the show as an extra singleton.

Janey and Roger’s My Mum, Your Dad season one love story still inspires fans to this day, as all continue to tune into season two of the single-parents dating show hoping it will end with more success for its contestants.

Janey joined the show’s first eight singletons after their first day on the retreat, and season two has also already introduced a new contestant to the house – Chris, supported by his daughter Ava – as well.

Speaking exclusively with virginradio.co.uk about her My Mum, Your Dad experience, Janey illustrated how Chris might be feeling entering the retreat late like she did.

“It was quite an out of body experience, to be honest,” Janey said looking back at her arrival. “I feel I came across very confident, I’m used to performing. I’m a singer. It doesn’t bother me, that side of it. However, this was a different level.”

“It was only a day [delay] though?” Roger questioned, but Janey said this still made all the difference nerves wise. “Everyone’s decided who they like, you know. And you come in and you think, ‘Well, I’m here for the same reason. I’ve not come in to steet anyone. I’ve come in for exactly the same reasons.’

“So I just thought, ‘Goodness, you only get one life.’” However, she added: “I felt sick, I felt shaky, and I just remember thinking, ‘Oh my life. I’m about to walk into the garden, I can see these people. This is beyond hideous, you know, and I don’t remember what I was saying. So it wasn’t easy.”

“You carried it off!” Roger said in response. And as their relationship proves, she sure did!

My Mum, Your Dad continues on ITV1 weeknights at 9pm. The first five episodes are available to view now on ITVX.
