Two more dates at London’s Wembley Stadium have been added to next year’s Oasis reunion tour, as the band addresses the ticket sale controversy.

So if, like most of the UK, you spent your Saturday in an interminable online ticket queue only to come away empty-handed, don’t look back in anger just yet, because there may still be hope.

The band have responded to the “phenomenal demand” - alongside the issues fans faced - by announcing two new shows at the iconic London venue.

The Wembley gigs will take place on Friday 27th September and Saturday 28th September 2025. Taking to X to announce them, Oasis wrote: “Two extra Wembley Stadium shows have been added due to phenomenal demand. Tickets will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process.

“Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial on sale with Ticketmaster. More details to follow.”

It was announced last week that Liam and Noel Gallagher would get back together for an Oasis UK tour next summer, but when the general sale on Saturday 31st August, many fans found themselves in multi-hour online queues and some were confronted by “dynamic pricing”, whereby tickets had increased hugely in cost because of demand.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy said that the Government would review “issues around the transparency and use of dynamic pricing, including the technology around queuing systems which incentivise it, in our forthcoming consultation on consumer protections for ticket resales.”

With apparently 10 million fans from 158 countries trying to buy tickets, a press release from the band acknowledges that ticket platforms were “struggling to cope, resulting in immense frustration and disappointment for fans who missed out after queuing for many hours.”

Therefore the “special invitation-only ballot ticket sale strategy” comes as “a small step towards making amends for the situation.”

Whilst it still won’t satisfy demand, it is hoped that “this ticket sale strategy will make the process far smoother for fans by reducing the stress and time it takes to obtain one of the hottest tickets of our time.”

Regarding the dynamic pricing that caused such a furore, the statement from the band said that “Oasis leave decisions on ticketing and pricing entirely to their promoters and management, and at no time had any awareness that dynamic pricing was going to be used.”

The statement acknowledged that “the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations.” and said that: “All parties involved did their utmost to deliver the best possible fan experience, but due to the unprecedented demand this became impossible to achieve.”

Oasis have also teamed-up with resale platform Twickets to enable fans to buy unwanted tickets for no more than face value.

If you are lucky enough to have tickets for any of the gigs in London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Manchester and Cardiff, then Virgin Radio’s own Chris Evans has given fans of a certain age some tips on how to prepare for attending the shows.

He also revealed that he has no memory of attending Knebworth back in 1996:
