A new face is coming to our screens later this year, as a new character joins Wallace and Gromit.

Fans had been worried about Gromit's fate after his name wasn't mentioned in a teaser trailer for the forthcoming Vengeance Most Fowl film.

They needn't have worried though, as the latest clip features Wallace's faithful friend meeting a new character, a 'smart gnome' called Norbot.

Gromit is shown gardening in the clip, as Wallace opens a crate to reveal Norbot inside who introduces himself as a "nifty, odd-jobbing robot".

Wallace proudly looks on, while Gromit looks less sure about this latest creation.

Voiced by Reece Shearsmith, Norbot has been designed to do any kind of gardening task, a.k.a “gnome improvement”.

Gromit is concerned that Wallace is too attached to his inventions.

Norbot soon turns into an AI nightmare, and it's up to Gromit to save the community and his friend.

Aardman released a statement, saying: “We are delighted to introduce Norbot, a ‘Nifty Odd-jobbing Robot’ gnome, designed to help Gromit with his gardening chores.”

“Norbot is Wallace’s most proud achievement to date and, according to Wallace, his ‘best invention ever!’ Garden gnomes have long been a part of Wallace and Gromit’s world, but this is no cute patio ornament….We’re so excited to see Wallace unleashing his latest invention, Norbot, into the world. However, his long-suffering pooch, Gromit, may be a little less sure…”

Feathers McGraw is also making a return, much to the excitement of fans.
