Locations including the Eiffel Tower, the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysées will once again be in the spotlight, as the event’s organisers focus once more on trying to engineer the most inclusive and accessible Paralympic opening ceremony to date.
What time is the Paralympics Opening Ceremony?
The 2024 Paralympics Opening Ceremony will begin at 7pm BST (8pm local time in Paris).
How can I watch the Paralympics Opening Ceremony?
Paralympic Games coverage will be broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK, and the opening ceremony for the games is no different.
Viewers excited about tuning into the Paralympics' opening ceremony will be able to watch the show from 6.30pm on Channel 4 and on demand.
Who is performing at the Paris 2024 Paralympics Opening Ceremony?
Just as the Olympic Games’ opening and closing ceremonies were steeped in rumours about who might be performing, there have also been rumours about who will be showing up to put on a show at the Paris 2024 Paralympics opening show. However, so far the main event remains more of a mystery than the ceremonies which preceded it.
Artistic director Thomas Jolly has teased “a spectacle that will showcase the Paralympic athletes and the values that they embody. A spectacle that will unite spectators and television audiences worldwide around the unique spirit of the Paralympic Games.”
Meanwhile, ceremony choreographer Alexander Ekman has said: “Our goal is to create a Paralympic ceremony that is a celebration with a mix of important messages, featuring the art of choreographic dance and the music newly composed by Victor Le Masne and inspired by sport.”
Tune in to Channel 4 on Wednesday, 28th August from 6.30pm to watch the Paris 2024 Paralympic Opening Ceremony.
