Taskmaster sidekick Alex Horne has given a major hint at who could be joining the hilarious panel next season.

Every series sees five comedians battle it out in wild and wacky tasks, all in order to impress the Taskmaster himself, Greg Davies.

Taskmaster alumni includes the likes of Al Murray, Daisy May Cooper and Frank Skinner, and according to Little Alex Horne himself, we could be in store for a major name for series 19.

Speaking on Sunday Brunch, the Horne Section star was asked if he and the team worry about running out of comedians one day.

Alex admitted: "I don't think we will. We will run out of the legend-type – the Dara Ó Briains or the Frank Skinners, but there's always new people coming through."

He then went on to hint: “We've got someone in the next series, series 19, from abroad, who's a big name overseas, which we've not done before. So yeah, there's always different avenues to go down."

"I'm going to tap into the Americans! Are you going to tap into the Americans?,” he joked.

Before we find out who the massive name could be, we have series 18 to look forward to.

Following the end of series 17, in which stand-up star John Robins won with an impressive 192 points, Channel 4 unveiled the next talented line-up in some nautical preview footage.

The series 18 panel will be made up of Andy Zaltzman, Babatunde Aléshé, Emma Sidi, Jack Dee and Rosie Jones

Zaltzman is a stand-up comedian working mainly with politics and sports and previously collaborated with John Oliver on Political Animal, The Department, and The Bugle.

I’m A Celeb viewers will recognise Aléshé after he appeared in the 2022 series, spending 18 days in the jungle. He’s also appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox, Richard Osman’s House of Games and Doctor Who.

Meanwhile, actress and comedian Sidi starred opposite Taskmaster alumni Rose Matafao in Starstruck, as well as Death in Paradise, Extraordinary and Ghosts.

Dee is making somewhat of a comeback after not being on TV since appearing in Bad Move in 2018. He’s of course best known for his stand up on Live at the Apollo as well as being a team captain on Shooting Stars.

A regular on panel shows including 8 Out of 10 Cats QI and The Last Leg, Jones also became a fan-favourite on Call The Midwife earlier this year and has previously written for shows including Would I Lie to You?

Catch up with all series of Taskmaster on Channel 4. Series 18 of Taskmaster is coming soon.
