Ricky Gervais' new banger Mortality is coming for you. The Golden Globe-winning comedian has announced his next world tour and Netflix special.

The After Life star is set to tour until the end of 2025 and take on 'all of Gervais’s favourite arenas around the world' finally ending with a special on the streaming giant.

Armageddon star Gervais, who holds the world record for the highest-grossing comedy special of all time, said in a statement: “We’re all gonna die. May as well have a laugh about it. Mortality looks at the absurdities of life. And death. Bring it on."

Gervais' previous gig at the Hollywood Bowl took £1.4million at the box office and was one of the most-watched shows on the platform last year.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos backed the comedian and told the New York Times in 2022: “I think it’s very important to the American culture generally to have free expression.

“We’re programming for a lot of diverse people who have different opinions and different tastes and different styles, and yet we’re not making everything for everybody. We want something for everybody but everything’s not going to be for everybody. Nobody would say that what he does isn’t thoughtful or smart. You just don’t agree with him.”

The next clump of his work-in-progress shows go on sale on Friday 28th June at 10am BST here and include Cambridge's Corn Exchange, London's Leicester Square Theatre, Woking's New Victoria Theatre and Crawley's The Hawth Theatre.
