Social media star GK Barry in 'advanced talks' to join Strictly

It's said that Strictly Come Dancing bosses are hoping signing the likes of TikTok and YouTube star GK Barry would attract a younger audience.

Grace Keeling as she is also known, has clocked up a serious following on both platforms, as well as hosting a successful podcast.

It's reported that Grace has taken part in her second meeting with show runners.

A source said: “Grace has had two meetings with Strictly about appearing on the show.

"She has a huge following on social media and bosses think she would be perfect for the younger audience they try and draw in.

“Grace knows this is an opportunity to become more of a household name, even though she is already hugely popular online.

"She is super keen to get on board.”

Grace previously studied film at Nottingham Trent University, and set up her channels over lockdown.

She now has more than 4.5million followers across the platforms.

It has also been claimed that I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! bosses wanted to sign Grace, but she decided Strictly was better after her close friend Nella Rose received significant backlash on the show.

A source said: “Ultimately  she felt Strictly was a safer bet.” 

If she does join, she would be alongside the likes of blind TV presenter Chris McCausland and Bank of Dave star David Fishwick.
