Fans and critics weren't too kind about this series when it first aired, with members of the Gogglebox cast outright laughing at it.

Despite this though, it seems that The Good Ship Murder has been renewed. According to reports the show has been renewed for two more seasons. Not only that, but there will be a Christmas special this year too.

The television crime drama series created by Paul Matthew Thompson and Mike Benson, is set on a luxury Mediterranean cruise ship and follows a retired detective-turned cabaret singer solving murders on board.

A Coronation Street actor, who many people thought had "disappeared" from the cobbles will also be starring in the show.

Lorna Laidlaw played Aggie Bailey, and was explained on the show as her character leaving to look after a relative.

The Channel 5 drama features some other Corrie stars too, with cast-mates Catherine Tyldesley and Shayne Ward in the lead roles. The latter plays the murder detective turned cabaret singer.

Meanwhile, Claire Sweeney will reprise her role as the cruise director, while Hollyoaks star Ross Adams joins.

The Sun quotes studio boss Mike Benson as saying: "Series one was something of a journey – or mid-price cruise – into the unknown, not least trying to film a drama on a cruise ship with 6,000 holidaymakers heading to eight different countries.”

The cast joked they would love some celebrity cameos, including Jane McDonald, who is known for her love of cruises.

The Sun previously described the show as a "load of old ship - it's so murderously awful, it's brilliant."
