Death in Paradise star Don Warrington has shared a new behind the scenes look at filming for the show.

Taking to his Instagram on Tuesday, 14th May, the Commissioner Patterson star shared four pictures of the Death in Paradise crew working away at filming the show’s next episodes.

In one picture, Warrington can even be seen apparently welcoming someone (perhaps new DI actor Don Gilet) to Saint Marie’s very well known police station.

Little is known about Death in Paradise’s how Death in Paradise will introduce Gilet’s new detective Mervin Wilson to Saint Marie, beyond the fact that the show will be back for a Christmas special before series 14 begins next year.

Filming began a few weeks ago on series 14, and soon after the show announced Gilet would be joining the cast as Ralf Little’s DI Neville Parker replacement.

Speaking in a statement released after his role in the series was at last revealed, Gilet said: “Being offered the new lead role in Death in Paradise feels like a deeply loved and incredibly precious jewel has been placed in my hands. This is a big show, with a big heart and the love continually grows for it.

“It is my intention to never lose sight of that and to remain grateful, humbled and dedicated. Even during those testing times when every sinew is screaming at me to run off the set and dive into the sea, swimming pool or an ice-cold beer – whichever happens to be closer at the time!”

The actor’s DI Mervin Wilson will arrive in Saint Marie from London, and reportedly much like the show’s first ever detective Richard Poole (Ben Miller), he won’t begin work overly pleased with his surroundings.

Death in Paradise will return for a Christmas special episode this year. Series 14 will air in 2025.
