In the wake of his dear friend and presenting partner Dave Myers' passing earlier this year, Si King, one half of the beloved duo the Hairy Bikers, has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from fans.

As The Hairy Bikers' latest cookbook, The Hairy Dieters' Fast & Fresh, soars to the top of the charts, Si King took a moment to extend his heartfelt thanks to their loyal followers.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Si shared his appreciation for the immense support received for their newest culinary venture.

He revealed: "I've just had the news that we're number one - but not just number one in food and drink, we're [also] number one in the bestsellers chart."

Grateful for the unwavering support, Si continued: "Honestly it means such a great deal and [it's] particularly fitting at the moment, so thanks so much."

The journey leading to the release of The Hairy Dieters' Fast & Fresh has been bittersweet, as it marks the first project without his cherished friend Dave by his side.

Just days ago, Si took to social media to express the profound significance of the cookbook, sharing: "It's a book that Dave and I really, really loved working [on]."

Reflecting on their shared passion for the project, he added: "We had the greatest of joy working on it together. Dave was very, very proud of it."

Dave Myers' passing, announced by Si in February, left a void in the hearts of fans and colleagues alike.

Known for their infectious camaraderie and culinary expertise, the Hairy Bikers captured the hearts of audiences worldwide with their warmth and authenticity.

Si's tribute to his dear friend resonated deeply, as he conveyed at the time of Dave's passing: "Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years.

"[On] 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave's wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home. All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing."

Navigating this profound loss has undoubtedly been a challenging journey for Si, who described Dave as his 'best friend' and shared reflections on their enduring bond.

"My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can't follow," he lamented.

"I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime."

In the midst of grief, Si expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support received from fans and well-wishers.

"I know Dave and his family would want me to thank all of you who sent messages of support in recent times," he shared.

"It meant the world to him, his family and all The Hairy Bikers team."

As Si and Dave's latest cookbook captures the hearts and palates of fans, it serves as a poignant reminder of their enduring legacy.

He concluded the statement by saying: "May I ask you all for one further kindness and allow Lili, his wife, his family, close friends and I some time and some peace to process our huge loss. I am sure I will see you all soon. Love Si x."

With heartfelt thanks and unwavering appreciation, Si continues to honour the memory of his beloved friend and fellow culinary adventurer.
