Cold Feet and Royle Family stars confirmed for ITV's DNA Journey series 5

Even more celebs will get to explore their family histories as ITV’s DNA Journey returns with a new crew of star pairings. 

In the upcoming fifth series, DNA Journey will see new celebrity twosomes set off in pursuit of where they come from and unearth secrets from their past, in a life-changing and emotional voyage of discovery that takes us from Canada to London, France to Jamaica.

Using advanced DNA technology and genealogy, the duos will unlock hidden secrets from their family trees as they discover amazing revelations about their descendants, fascinating stories of unknown ancestors and meetings with living relatives that spark deep connections to the past and present.

The stars taking part for series five of DNA Journey will be The Royle Family co-stars Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston, comedians Jo Brand and Julian Clary, alongside Cold Feet actresses Fay Ripley and Hermione Norris.

TV personalities Sam Thompson and Marvin Humes will also be on board alongside Sarah Parish and Jimmy Nesbitt plus Life on Mars’ John Simm and Philip Glenister.

DNA Journey often has fans in tears with its incredible long-lost stories, but also leaves plenty of viewers gobsmacked when they learn of a surprising familial connection.

In 2022’s series, Tom travelled with The Masked Singer’s Joel Dommet across London to Edinburgh and Ireland to find out more about their history, with Tom determined to closer to his family after losing his beloved father. 

The emotional journey took an unexpected turn for Tom, as he soon found out his long-lost cousin is that of the Rip Off Britain star!

DNA Journey returns to ITV later this year.
