Louis Walsh shocks fans with embarrassing Celebrity Big Brother faux pas

Louis Walsh amused Celebrity Big Brother fans again last night (11th March) when he made a howler of a mistake during his nominations.

Taking to the CBB diary room to anonymously - (well, in theory!) - nominate his choices for the next celebrities he’d like to see potentially leave the Big Brother house, Louis went ahead and nominated Fern Britton and Lauren Simon for elimination.

Or at least, that’s what he tried to do… Despite having had a whole week to get to know his fellow housemates, when Louis sat down to nominate Fern he ended up getting her name wrong and nominating a completely different celebrity - Fearne Cotton!

Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live revealed his gaffe to fans, playing a clip showing the former X Factor star saying: “The person I’d like to nominate for eviction is Fearne Cotton.”

“Fern Britton?” Big Brother can then be heard asking him, to which he then confirms: “Yeah Fern Britton, my second nomination is Fern,” barely acknowledging how he’d made the embarrassing mistake.

Fans were in hysterics at the error, just as they were also amused by Louis’ brutal reasoning behind nominating Fern when they watched the main show. “She’s like wallpaper,” the talent show judge criticised.

“I think the others deserve to be there. Fern is just there… She’s really nice but it’s not bringing anything,” he continued. “Who can we do without? It’s Fern.”

Fern does find herself up for eviction this week, but not as a result of Louis’ nomination. Instead, her role is on the line as a result of Sharon’s Big Brother sanctioned interference in the second lot of nominations.

Having saved Zeze from the next eviction vote, Sharon swapped in Fern to face the public. Viewers are now tasked with choosing whether to us their votes to save Lauren, Louis or Fern.
