Beyond Paradise’s Kris Marshall has revealed what fans can expect from Humphrey and Martha (Sally Breton)’s relationship in series two of the much loved show.

Speaking with virginradio.co.uk at last night (12th February)’s TV Choice Awards, the DI Humphrey Goodman actor revealed that despite their challenges in the show’s first instalment, fans can expect Humphrey and Martha to be “back on form” in series two.

“They had a lot of challenges in series one: relocating and all the issues with the IVF,” the actor said. “They’ve had a lot of issues: ex-boyfriends and all that kind of stuff. But this year, they’re back on form.

“They’ve got a duck, they’ve got a boat, they’re winning!” he joyfully shared, and his co-star Sally Breton agreed.

“We’re a lot more solid,” she said, adding: “They’re in a good place, they’re in a happy place.”

Kris and Sally’s Death in Paradise spin-off drama successfully walked away with the TV Choice award for Best New Drama at Monday night’s awards show. Just getting the nomination had Kris gushing “it’s a great honour…  to be validated by the audience and also by the critics and the viewers, it’s just amazing.”

On the subject of the show being loved by the general public, Kris also opened up to virginradio.co.uk about how the local community around Devon and Cornwall where the show is filmed have also been really welcoming to the production.

“They’ve really embraced us. You know, it’s difficult because film crews go around and they block off roads… you know, we could put a few backs out, but everyone’s really wonderful.”
