The Masked Singer’s latest unmasked celeb has shared how being underneath the Air Fryer costume changed her outlook for the better.

The Greatest Showman’s Keala Settle was unveiled as the kitchen appliance on Saturday night, narrowly missing out on the grand finale next week.

Keala, best known on West End and Broadway Stages, was unmasked alongside 80s pop sensation Tiffany, who was underneath the Eiffel Tower costume.

Speaking exclusively to virginradio.co.uk after lifting the lid (literally) on her time as Air Fryer, Keala admitted she was so excited to break the news of her time on The Masked Singer as it’s “changed” forever.

“I've always been afraid of taking up space as who I am,” Keala candidly confessed. “So I've never really known who I am. I'm so busy being something else for other people, which I think we all are. But to the extent I have, it's exhausting me.

“When they approached me and asked, I sort of took a deep breath and said, ‘Yeah, let's do it.’”

The Wicked star also admitted it was “petrifying” to go up against the “demons in your mind” but it helped being in the colourful Air Fryer costume.

“I was trapped in this really cute little box,” she added “I could do it, and be safe in there, and then just let it rip and not be afraid anymore. It was such an incredible learning experience and I had the best time."

Keala’s exit leaves only Piranha, Cricket and Bigfoot in the final next week, where the panel will be joined by comedian Rob Brydon with a special cameo from actor David Tennant.

The final episode of The Masked Singer will air on Saturday at 7pm on ITV1, ITVX and STV.
