Dua Lipa has officially made her action movie debut - but did she get involved in all the adrenaline-pumping stunts?

The pop sensation stars as the mysterious LaGrange, who meets Agent Argylle (Henry Cavill) in the first moments of the film’s trailer. Their dazzling dance sequence turns into a wild car chase and dramatic shootout, giving only a mere taste of the danger to come.

Fans can check out exactly what LaGrange gets up to as Argylle is now in cinemas, and when virginradio.co.uk were at the World Premiere of the spy caper in January, we got the chance to ask Dua if she managed to get up-close-and-personal with all the action.

When asked if she got to do her own stunts, Dua replied: “I did get to do a lot of my own stunts, which was really fun.

“I just wanted to throw myself into the experience like, ‘put me in a harness, I'm ready to do it! Just show me how to do it. Let's go’. So it was really fun.”

There were thankfully no accidents for Dua on set, as she continued: “Everything went alright. Everything went alright. I had very good stunt people helping me and teaching me how to protect myself, so it was great.”

Along with daredevil Dua, Argylle also stars the likes of John Cena, but the WWE star admitted his decades of wrestling experience surprisingly didn't help when it came to the stunt action.

“You’d think that WWE translates to all things stunts,” the Barbie star replied: “It couldn't be further from the truth.

“I'm not exactly the most graceful performer, I operate like a bull in a china shop. This is a pretty graceful flick. So they didn't ask me a lot. I trusted their process.”

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, the movie follows an introverted spy novelist who is drawn into the real world of espionage when the plots of her books start to resemble the real activities of a sinister underground syndicate.

Along with Dua and John, the all-star cast includes Samuel L Jackson and Sofia Boutella, as well as Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara and  Ariana DeBose.

Matthew Vaughn and Oscar-winner Sam recently joined  the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch to chat about the new film.

Speaking about working with Sam for the first time, the Layer Cake director said: “We picked up the script, we read, he was fantastic. And then on the first day of filming, he throws the script out the window and does the most brilliant improvisations, and most of them made the movie. So on the day, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, what am I dealing with?’ But in the end, I realised I was dealing with genius. So it was great.”

Argylle is in UK cinemas now and is set to stream globally on Apple TV+.
