Forget plants and herbs being medicinal! Hearing Alison Hammond’s laugh during The Great British Bake Off’s Botanicals Week is enough to cure all.

The remaining bakers on tonight’s GBBO (31st October) will have to know their fruits from their florals for this week’s run of creations, and in a new preview clip shared with virginradio.co.uk, it looks like the contestants will have to get their buns ready with some of nature’s best ingredients.

In the preview footage, all the bakers are busy getting their buns in the oven, but it’s easier said than done, with those in the tent staring feverishly at the doors hoping nothing will go wrong.

As with every bake on the series, timing is everything, and it seems Saku is stressing about getting her buns just right.

Joining Saku at her work station, Alison tells the baker: “They look beautiful, look at that! Are you happy?”

While still kneeling by the oven door, Saku responds unconvincingly: “I am happy…but they’re not sticking out.”

Not content with Saku feeling down about her bake, Alison quickly brings out what Bake Off is often known for - a brilliant baking innuendo.

“Come here, just lean on these buns,” Alison says while bringing Saku in for a hug, which sets her off giggling, before pretending to snore while the Big Brother star strokes her head.

Alison continued: “Lean on these buns, have a little sleep, let me rub your head.”

The bakers will hope their actual buns will get a Hollywood Handshake when they present their botanical bakes to Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith tonight.

Last week, when pastries were the aim of the game, it was unfortunately Rowan and Nicky who were sent home from the tent in a shock double elimination

The Great British Bake Off returns tonight (Tuesday 31st October) on Channel 4.
