The late, great Steve Irwin's daughter, Bindi Irwin, has paid tribute to her much-loved Crocodile Hunter dad and shared a hilarious video of him stepping in to separate a fight between two kookaburras.

The 25-year-old conservationist posted the funny clip on Instagram, featuring her father jumping into a bird pen to stop the fighting pair.

'This flashback makes my heart happy. Dad's kindness and love for all species will live on forever,' Bindi told followers.

The legendary environmentalist and animal lover can be seen riding his motorbike through Australia Zoo and stopping as he clocks the two birds at war with each other.

'You be friends now,' Steve tells the pecking pair.

Mum Terri wrote: 'Such a special moment. Steve loved every animal.'

'I have had this video sent to me multiple times this week because my friends know how much I adore your dad. He’d be so proud of you all,' wrote one fan.

Omg this is wonderful!' agreed a second.

'Your dad was such a special man, truly one of a kind and he would be so proud of you ! You continue everyday to honour his memory and legacy in such a beautiful way,' penned a third.

'Miss him,' wrote a fourth.

'He was one of my favourite people who ever lived,' a fifth expressed.

Bindi lost her dad, aged just 8, when he died on September 4, 2006, aged 44, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.

The family continued Irwin's work with Australia Zoo and the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.

Bindi welcomed a daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, in March 2021 with her husband, Chandler Powell.

She said: "Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler's family dating back to the 1700s.

"Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior. Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad."
