Boiling Point: Stephen Graham’s new series gets release date - and it’s soon

Acclaimed movie Boiling Point, which starred Stephen Graham, is being followed up by a new BBC series, and the good news is we don’t have to wait long to see it.

The series will see Graham reprise his role as perpetually stressed and overworked chef Andy. The drama will premiere on BBC One from Sunday 1st October at 9pm.

And the Line of Duty star isn’t the only returning cast member from the film. Sherlock's Vinette Robinson will be back as Carly, while Hannah Walters will be returning as Emily.

The new TV series will pick up a few months on from where the film ended, with sous chef Carly now running her own kitchen after (spoiler alert if you haven’t seen the film) Andy suffered a heart attack.

The synopsis for the series reveals that “Carly is battling to forge a name for new Dalston restaurant Point North alongside her old kitchen crew.”

Boiling Point will see the team face “the stresses of keeping the restaurant running” in the midst of a “hospitality industry in crisis”. 

The synopsis continues: “With the pressure to draw in new, hungry customers and the financial squeeze to keep the business profitable, the team must find a way to manage their complicated personal lives whilst creating quality food day in, day out."

Along with Graham, Robinson and Walters, Ray Panthaki also comes back as Freeman, Áine Rose Daly returns as Robyn and Gary Lamont will once again play Dean. Meanwhile, Daniel Larkai returns as Jake, Taz Skylar will be Billy, Stephen McMillan plays Jamie again, Hannah Traylen is back as Holly and Izuka Hoyle returns as Camille.

Among the new faces is Cathy Tyson, who won a BAFTA alongside Stephen and Jodie Comer in the incredible Channel 4 film, Help. She will play Carly's mum Vivian. Ahmed Malek and Shaun Fagan will also both join the series.
