Trigger warning: Suicide/Depression

Suits star Billy Miller has died at the age of 43 — just days before his birthday. It has been confirmed that the actor, who played the role of Marcus Specter in Suits, has taken his own life.

The Daytime Emmy-award-winning actor, who starred alongside former actress Meghan Markle from 2015 until 2019 in Suits, also appeared with Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause in US show All My Children.

Stause penned: "Still processing this. Too many feelings, but you are gone way too soon and I’m so happy I got to work with you all those years, but also call you a friend. I hope you are at peace now.”

His mother, Patricia Miller, paid an emotional tribute to the General Hospital actor and thanked fans for their "overwhelming amount of love, prayers and condolences" following his death in Austin, Texas.

She told Soap Opera Digest about his mental health battle and explained: "He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease."

The Young and the Restless star's mum added that he "loved his family and friends but in the end the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life". Patricia said her family are now "desperately trying to deal with our loss".

Billy's management released a statement and said: "He also leaves behind a great many friends and colleagues who will miss his warm personality, generous spirit, and genuine kindness."

Suits co-creator Aaron Korsh paid tribute on social media and wrote: "Very sad news for the entire Suits family. I flew home once with Billy. We had a great time, bonding over the five-hour flight, which seemed like it was over in minutes. A funny, smart, kind, gentle man."
