Ricky Wilson revealed a little 'trick' he likes to play on the guests after him in an Airbnb.
Taking over hosting responsibilities from Chris Evans this morning, 29th August, on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch, Ricky Wilson let loose and showed a cheekier side as he let listeners in on a fun new 'trick' he's been trying out.
Recounting stories from his recent performances at Evans' CarFest over the weekend, Wilson revealed he had been given an Airbnb as his 'dressing room' for the duration.
Not only did this turn out to be quite a swanky treat for the Kaiser Chiefs frontman, it also allowed him the opportunity to try out a tip he had learnt online earlier in the week.
He told his co-host Sinéad Garvan about the 'trick' that: "I thought [it] was hilarious."
Suggesting to the audience that it's a simple thing that you too can try, he divulged the process behind riotous cherry on top of any Airbnb stay.
Wilson explained: "So when you're leaving an Airbnb, and they have a guestbook, write in it."
Surprised at how unfunny that seems? Well Wilson goes on to explain exactly what you should write in the book other than your thanks for the stay.
Wilson continued: "I did [wrote] this: 'What fantastic place, took us ages to find the secret room!'"
Drawing an uproarious laugh out of Sinéad, Ricky excited detailed his hopes at the predicted riot he was going to cause for other guests.
Ricky exclaimed: "[They'll go] 'secret room?' and they'll spend the whole weekend looking!"
Hopefully, despite the fact he has now outed himself as a secret prankster on national radio, Ricky doesn't draw too many angry mobs, out for revenge, to our studio.
Ricky had been at CarFest to not only perform as himself but also has his alter ego The Phoenix, a persona and costume he had donned during his time on The Masked Singer.
After making it to the final and losing out to Charlie Simpson from Busted as The Pigeon, Ricky spoke exclusively to virginradio.co.uk about his time on the show and some behind the scenes secrets.
Wilson was probably quite eager to get back into his costume as he disclosed that he very much enjoyed life inside the “cosy” Phoenix outfit.
On his costume, he laughed: “I thought it was quite safe. It felt like the kind of thing you'd imagine yourself in when you're trying to get to sleep at night. It was like no one talked to you. It was warm, and fun to lay down on the floor. I could have been asleep instantly. It was lovely. That was a really nice thing.”
