This Morning’s Matthew Wright weighs in on Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield 'feud'

This Morning’s Matthew Wright has broken his silence over the alleged feud between Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

The presenters have been hosting the ITV show together for many years, but rumours have recently surfaced that their relationship has broken down.

Schofield released a statement las week, where he addressed the ‘feud’ and said: “As I have said before, Holly is my rock. We’re the best of friends — as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.

"Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her.

“The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.”

Now, journalist Wright, who regularly appears on This Morning, has defended Phillip and Holly in a post on social media.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday (16th May), he said: “Not sure I believe half of what you read about Holly and Phil. Terrific atmosphere on set today as per.”

Many people took to the comments underneath the tweet to share their relief at Matthew’s insight, with one person writing: “That’s lovely to hear!”

Another added: “I love those guys and really hope it isn’t ‘a thing’ Really hating all the nasty comments online too! I hope they know that not everyone is against them ❤️”

While a third said: “Good glad to hear someone being positive 👍”.

However, there were still some who doubted these claims and felt it was time for a change on This Morning.

This comes after Lorraine Kelly gave her opinion on the matter while speaking to The Sun.

She said: “Do you know what? They were back today and it was business as usual and everyone is just getting on with it.”

The presenter also said that it is “unlikely” either of them would leave This Morning and added: “I would be sad if they left the show but I don’t think that is ever likely to happen and I think they’re just getting on with it.”
