Deal or No Deal will look a bit different when it returns to ITV later this year.

Back in March, ITV confirmed they were bringing the daytime TV favourite back to screens after seven years away, but this time, Stephen Mulhern will be taking over from Noel Edmonds as host. The show originally ran from 2005 to 2016 on Channel 4.

Now, the broadcaster has confirmed the new series of Deal or No Deal will include a fresh-looking logo, which appears to be bursting with glitter.

Not only that, but casting for the new series is officially open at their shiny new website (dealornodeal.co.uk) where you can apply to be in with a chance of winning some serious cash prizes.

You have until 12th May 2023 to apply to be on the game show, and according to the application process, you will need to be available for the “first two weeks of July” to take part.

The application involves a short questionnaire about yourself, and gets you to think about how you would handle the pressure from the infamous Banker.

As with the previous series, the new Deal or No Deal will contestants confronted with 22 sealed boxes, each one hiding a different amount of money. Without knowing what each one contains, the contestant must eliminate the boxes, which are opened one at a time, and the amount of money inside is revealed.

Pressure mounts as the player is tempted by the notorious Banker to accept an offer of cash in exchange for what might be inside their box. As long as the larger cash prizes remain unchosen, the Banker’s offers will get higher. But that can all change in an instant if a big cash prize is unveiled.

In the original show, the lowest sum of money available was 1p and the largest £250,000. It’s not clear if the reboot will divide the money in the same way yet.

Speaking about the return of the show and his new position as host, Mulhern said earlier this year: "Wow what an opportunity, I’m beyond excited to be hosting the brand-new series. I’ve always been such a huge fan of the show, so much so, I’ve been practising at home with small cereal boxes!"

He continued: "It looks so simple but it's an incredibly compelling game for both those playing and the viewers watching at home. It’s one of the greatest shows of all time and to be the new host is an honour! I can’t wait to get started."

Deal or No Deal will return to ITV1 and ITVX later this year.
